John Christopher Depp
* His Birthday is June 9, 1963
* Was born in Owensboro, Kentucky - his father is an engineer (John Sr.) and his mother (Betty Sue Palmer) who is a waitress has remarried and lives near him in Vancouver, Canada.
* The youngest of 4 children - brother, Danny (writer), sister Debbie and Christie Dembrowsky- he's still close to them and recalls it was his brother who was responsible for his love of musc: "My brother turned me into Derek and the Dominos and Van Morrison when I was seven."
* In 1966 His family moved to Miramar, Florida. It's between Miami and Fort Lauderdale.
* In 1977, he started school and met his best friend, Sal Jenco.
* His best friend is Sal Jenco - he plays "Blowfish" on 21 Jump Street.
* His parents divorced in 1978.
* Started playing the guitar at 12. "My mom bought me my first guitar for $25 when I was 12 and I became obsessed with it. I locked myself in my room and learned . I bought a chord book - with pictures of where your fingers should go - and after I'd learn the basic chords, I started picking things up off records."
* He organized The Kidz / Kids (?) in Florida, when he was 17. The band was also said to be called The Flames, before changing. "We had a nice following in south Florida," he says, "We got to open for big bands like the Talking Heads and the Pretenders. They also openned for Iggy Pop.
* 1980 quits school, leaves home, lives in a car and supports himself as a constant construction worker by day and a rocker by night.
* 1983: Hollywood California. He moved with his band, The Kidz, to L.A. got an apartment
* His favorite restaurant in Vancouver is Italian.
* He declared and wrote a 15 min. short film called "Every Cake Neil". " It's about a wimpy guy who's nagged to death by his wife," he reveals.
* He starred in an American film institute movie called "Dummies".
* He has an uncle Denny who's a preacher.
* He dropped out of high school in his junior year. At the age of 16.

* He used to have a pet named "Scaramanga".
* Was discovered by Nicholas Cage in 1985 while he was playing in a club.
* He took a job selling pens over the phone in order to survive while trying for acting work.
* During the mid to the late 80's he played in a band called Rock City Angels. "I was playing guitar in a band called Rock City Angels - we were kind of a cross between Muddy Waters and the Sex Pistols. But I was selling pens over the phone ion order to survive."
* "I dropped out of the band to do Nightmare On Elm Street ... but I just found out they signed a $6.2 Million dollar record contract with Geffen for seven albums. It's the biggest deal out in LA since Madonna's. I'm real happy for the guys. Really. I hope to get back into music someday, but not as a teen idol type."
* In 1986 came in Private Resort.
* He hates his 2nd movie - Private Resort. "It was a sexploitation film", he says.
* Then Follwed by Platoon where he plays the interpreter Lerner.
* 1987 he was asked to audition for 21 Jump Street. But at first he refused to even look at the script. He didn't want to do television. Actor Jeff Yagher was signed and shooting began. After three weeks the produceer felt that he wasn't working out and Johnny Depp was called again.
* This time he auditioned and got the part of course.
* Later he made the movie Edward Scissorhands.
* And thus his movie carrer began again.
* He quite 21 Jumpstreet to concentrate more on movies.
* His list of relations follows: ex-wife: Lori Anne Allison (makeup artist); ex-fiancées: Sherilynn Fenn (actress), Jennifer Grey (actress), Winona Ryder (actress), Kate Moss (waifish model); companion: Vanessa Paradis (singer-actress).
* Has a daughter with Vanesa Paradis named Lily-Rose Melody Depp, born 5/27/99 at 8:25 PM, 8 lbs. And a baby boy they named Jack John Christopher Depp III, born April 9, 2002.
