Sharon Sees Johnn Depp In Ozzy's Shoes
There's news on two - count 'em, two - Osbourne fronts.
First, the TV show: MTV announced Monday that the second season of "the Osbournes" will kick off Nov. 26, for sure.
There had been some anxious talk that the 10-episode season would not commence until January, but the cable network put those rumors to rest by confirming the return of the offbeat reality series two days before Thanksgiving.
"We are excited to invite the world into our home for another dose of Osbourne insanity. This season the show takes on a whole new meaning as we share the highs and the lows of the last six months with our viewers," matriarch and manager Sharon Osbourne, who has been battling colon cancer all summer, says in a statement.
Now, for something really special: Sharon also tells the Hollywood Reporter that a biographical movie about Ozzy, 53 is in the works. Furthermore, she sees Johnny Depp, 39, as the perfect man to play her heavy-metal husbad.
The subject came up after Sharon, 50, was asked if she could envision her successful TV series making the leap to the big screen. she replied: "I wouldn't want to do a comedy film because we're working on Ozzy's life-story film right now... We haven't signed the deal, but we're really close to closing the deal."
Osbourne was tight-lipped on which studio she is negotiating with, but she did tell the trader paper about one of the screenwriters. "I'm doing a lot of it," she said.
On the subject of Depp: "I have a dream of who it could be, but I don't know if he'll do it," she said. "He's a brillant actor."
Still she confided, until a deal for the movie is "actually signed, we won't be talking to anyone."
