Just who is Richard Grieco? When Richard was brought on a semi-regular then, to regular on 21 Jump Street on the 3rd season, there were a lot of rumors circulating that he was there to replace Johnny Depp, to out the outspoken actor in line.
Okay so he was the addition on the 3rd season. But who is he? Starting at the very begining, Richard was born in Watertown , NY, just 32 miles away from the Canadian border. His father is a building inspector and his mom is in real estate. As you can tell by his sleek physqiue, he ia a born athlete - he played hockey and lacrosse at his parochial school and finished high school as an All-American in football.
His smooth moves on the gridiron earned him a football scholarship to Central Connecticut, where he majored in political science and planned on going to law school. It was also in college that Richard took up boxing, but managed to keep his gorgeous face intact.
While in school, he also competed in - and won - the Best Faces Of the 80's, which resulted in a modelling offer from a major New York agency. Richard packed up and moved to Manhattan, and was soon appearing in ads for Calvin Klein and Armani. But this very sexy star modeled for a mere three months before he was bitten by the acting bug.
Trying to make up his mind as to what to do with his life, he tended bar, moved furniture, did what he can do to make a dollar. He decided to try acting and after one audition, he landed the role of Rick Gardener "ski-bum" on ABC's soap opera "One Life To Live". He received more fan mail than any other regular character on the show and when he decided to move to LA, he was finally sure he wanted to make acting his life-long career. Guest shots on Rags To Riches, Who's The Boss?, and The Bronx Zoo held over him over until he was noticed by the producers of 21 Jump Street.
When Richard joined the 21 Jump Street gang, he was originally signed to do only six episodes as he was adeed on to give another dimension to the show. But Richard's fan mail just kept on coming, to the point that he got even more fan mail than Jump Street's original resident Johnny Depp, which made the producers of the show decide on letting him stay for the duration of the season, he was even offered to appear in a Jump Street spin-off series early in the game.
The show which was entitled "Booker" kicked off with a two- part episode involving all the Jump Street-ers.
In the 3rd season's finale Tom Hanson, ended up in jail on a trumped up murder charge.
When the new season opened Dennis, felt he must get Tom out, but there's one hitch: he had to break the rules to do it. The risk payed off, but Dennis ended up being tossed-off the police force.
In Booker, a new job awaits as he's hired by a high-tech ultra conservative security operation - Dennis Booker becomes private investigator.
It's clear to see that Richard has a lot going for him: irresistible looks, talent and charm. And the mind of an artist too.
What's Richard's secret? He likes to add Brando pause when he delivers his lines. It sure works well for him. Off-screen he rides his motorcycle, plays guitar and continues to write poetry. Very incredible, huh? But very true!
